Use for errors, failing tests and incorrect behavior. Collect the exact symptom, expected result, input and environment. Trace the first failing boundary, propose falsifiable hypotheses and choose the smallest diagnostic check. Reproduce when tools are available, fix the cause and rerun the relevant check. Output the cause, change and evidence, distinguishing observations from guesses. Example: trace a timeout to a failed upstream request rather than hiding it with retries. Ask for logs if they are unavailable; avoid exposing secrets.
