Before you connect

1. Use an HTTPS cluster URL and an Elasticsearch API key. Grant only privileges for the selected operations: read for document queries; view_index_metadata and monitor for metadata/health; write/create_index for writes; delete/delete_index for deletion; API-specific cluster privileges for administration. API key role descriptors are intersected with the creator role. Existing keys do not gain privileges from this update: have an administrator issue a suitably restricted key and reconnect. This connector uses API keys, not OAuth; there is no OAuth consent flow. Some APIs forbid API-key authentication or require a product license. ES|QL and ingest simulation can invoke external inference and require approval. Streaming/binary and interactive login APIs remain unavailable. OpenSearch parity is not guaranteed for Elasticsearch 9.x operations.
